Rooted in Community

Welcome to Eight Limbs Yoga.

At Eight Limbs, we believe yoga is for everyone; no experience or flexibility required. Whether you're stepping onto the mat for the first time or have practiced for years, you'll find a welcoming community, thoughtfully designed classes, and a space where you can move, breathe, and belong.

Our studio was intentionally built for infrared yoga and every class is designed to help you reconnect with your body, quiet your mind, and leave feeling better than when you arrived.

Come as you are. We'll meet you there.

Power Flow

Move. Breathe. Sweat.

Elevate your heart rate in this invigorating, heated class inspired by the Baptiste sequence. Following a thoughtfully designed, consistent blueprint, Power Flow builds strength, flexibility, balance, and endurance through intentional movement synchronized with breath.

Expect to challenge your body, quiet your mind, and leave feeling stronger and energized.

Deep Stretch

Slow Down. Stretch. Restore.

A slower, intentional practice designed to increase flexibility, improve mobility, and release tension throughout the body. Through a mindful sequence, you'll focus on opening the hips and shoulders while lengthening the body's major muscle groups and incorporating gentle strengthening.

Leave feeling more open, more at ease, and maybe even a little more enlightened.

Yin

Be Still. Breathe. Release.

Slow down and settle into stillness in a Yin Yoga practice. Through longer-held, supported floor postures, you'll gently encourage flexibility, mobility, and release in the body's connective tissues while creating space for deep relaxation and reflection.

Whether you're looking to balance a more active lifestyle or simply quiet your mind, you'll leave feeling grounded, restored, and deeply renewed.

What's in a Name?

The Eight Limbs of Yoga reflect the full philosophy of yoga, not just the physical practice. Postures are only one of the eight interconnected limbs in the Yoga Sutras. They offer a holistic path to living with greater purpose, balance, and awareness.

The journey begins with the Yamas and Niyamas, ethical principles and personal practices that encourage kindness, integrity, and self-awareness. Asana, the physical practice of yoga, helps cultivate strength and resilience, while Pranayama, or breathwork, teaches us to find steadiness and calm. As the practice deepens, Pratyahara invites us to turn our attention inward, Dharana develops focused concentration, and Dhyana encourages meditation and mindful presence. The final limb, Samadhi, represents a profound sense of peace, connection, and wholeness.

You don't need to master all eight limbs, or even know their names, to benefit from yoga. Simply showing up, breathing, moving, and practicing with intention is enough.

At Eight Limbs Yoga, we hope your practice supports not only how you feel on your mat, but how you live beyond it.

Alex

Alex had been practicing yoga on and off for a decade until 2021 when she started seriously applying yogic principles and movements to her recovery and endurance as a runner and lifter. She completed her 200 hours of yoga teacher training in June 2026, with a focus on power and an eye towards teaching an accessible class: for all levels even if your knees hurt or you can’t touch your toes. In her spare time, Alex lifts, reads, solves Murdle puzzles, and watches epic movies with her pug, Lenny (who appreciates a dramatic soundtrack).

Barbara

Barbara discovered yoga as a remedy for chronic back pain after years as a dancer. She began teaching at Dancing Mind Yoga, a Baptiste affiliate in Falls Church, VA, where she also completed her 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training.

She later earned her 300-hour credential with Albina Rippy, her Yoga Nidra certification through ShivaShakti, and her Reiki Level III. Barbara taught for eight years at Rising Sol Yoga School, where she also created its teacher training program.

In 2026, with the support of an incredible community, she founded Eight Limbs Yoga.

Chris

Chris discovered yoga in 2012 while recovering from a low back injury. After a friend invited him to a Baptiste yoga class, he was immediately drawn to the practice and has been dedicated to it ever since. In 2017, he completed his 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training at Down Dog Yoga.

Off the mat, you might find Chris climbing a rock wall or a tree, riding a motorcycle or a skateboard, and spending time with his beautiful wife and adorable dog.

Kelsey

Kelsey’s yoga journey began in 2019, when she stepped into her first class. Yoga quickly became a meaningful part of her life as she was immediately drawn to the practice of moving meditation and the powerful connection between the mind and body. In 2023, Kelsey completed her 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training through Ebb & Flow Yoga School in Vacaville, California. She brings a welcoming and mindful approach to her teaching, encouraging students to connect with their breath, movement, and themselves.

Off the mat, Kelsey is a full-time student, wife, and mom to two kids, two cats, and a dog.

Marissa

Marissa was drawn to yoga because of her fascination with all movement, especially dance. She is a certified trauma-informed RYT-200 and completed her initial Teacher Training, a Hot 26 certification, and a Yin mentorship at Rising Sol Yoga School. Marissa is currently pursuing a certification in Functional Yin which supports her ability to guide students through an intentional movement practice with their body and mind.

Off the mat, you will find her outside hiking or biking with her husband, enjoying a good meal with friends, and seeking inspiration in ordinary places.

MC

MC fell in love with hot yoga as a college student, and what began as a favorite workout grew into a lifelong practice. She is a Yoga Alliance RYT-200 having completed training with Zweet Sport Hot Yoga in 2022 under Barbara Parker.

Drawing on years of competitive multisport experience, MC believes mindful movement has the power to bring us back to ourselves.

Off the mat, MC is a voracious reader of esoteric literature and quests to perfect her sourdough recipe.
